The Aerial K9: An Ethological Approach to First Response

First Responders are used to working effectively with K9 Service Animals. Here we exploit the field of Ethology to explore and develop  a control architecture that mimics this interaction. Our goal is to apply this architecture to Small Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (SUAV) to assist First Responders. Here the SUAV becomes an effective member of the Human Robot Team and results in a reduced workload, improved situational awareness (Eye in the sky), improve team efficiency,  and safety in search and rescue of large scale disaster search and rescue.
